About HVCC

Helena Valley Cricket Club has developed over the past 30 years into a vibrant, diverse club which has a distinct family atmosphere.

Boya Oval, a picturesque ground nestled in the Perth foothills, has been the club’s home since its foundation in 1985.

Helena Valley is a senior cricket club that has boasted as many as four teams over the years and currently fields three teams in the Swan Helena competition.

The club plays in the newly combined Perth Swan Cricket Association, which is the largest hard wicket competition in Perth.

The club began with just one team in 1985 and contained players stepping up from from Helena Valley Junior Cricket Club as well as others from the local area. Within two years, HVCC had won its first premiership in the B-grade and was playing in the highly competitive A-grade competition. Players from that original premiership team still remain at the club now and pass on their immense experience to our younger players.

In its short history, the club has won six premierships across three grades in the Swan Helena, as well as two Twenty20 premierships in the hotly contested Hills Twenty20 championship, which invites clubs from across Perth to compete.

The club has a stable, hard-working board and many respected senior players, as well as a sound financial record, but we are most proud of our family-friendly atmosphere. After games, Boya Oval is filled with players and families socialising together and our yearly Christmas Party is a popular event.

As Helena Valley itself begins another estate expansion, the club will only continue to grow in membership and the Shire of Mundaring’s decision to locate a new library at Boya Oval means updated facilities are possible. The club continues to build relationships with the local community and the changing demographics of the area mean a junior club could soon be a realistic option again after a period of consolidation for the senior club.
